Fake Code Signing for Xcode and sending App to Cydia

If you have downloaded and installed Xcode to your computer and you don't want to pay Apple the $100 to test your application on your device or to submit it to Cydia, you can create a certificate to fool Xcode into allowing you to fully build and test your application.

The following steps will describe how to create this certificate, deploy it into Xcode, and a few steps on how to submit your application to Cydia once you're done creating it.

These steps are the same on a Mac or a virtual machine to run OS X.

2.Once you've finished creating your app, Ctrl+Click the application's name and click on Get Info.

3. Navigate to the Full Path of the application, this is the file you will be submitting.

4. Go to http://modmyi.com/devportal and fill out all the details. They will email you once your package is in Cydia.

Pull to Refresh For Mail In Cydia

Pull to Refresh, an innovative feature found in the latest Facebook update, is now available to download for the Mail app. The best part is that this app is completely free to use. Pull to Refresh is compatible with 3.x and iOS 4 firmwares.

 How to Install

1. Make sure you are jailbroken. (How do I do that?) And that you are on or at an above firmware of 3.0. (How do I check?)
2. Open Cydia, tap on the Search tab, type in Pull to Refresh. Download and install it.
3. Press your home button and let your device respring.

Safari Download Manager: A very useful app that downloads anything directly from safari. Just go to a download link and click download. This is very useful if your on the go, you can watch pre-downloaded videos directly on your iPod touch/iPhone within minutes. The downloader even works in the background so no worries on waiting  for your downloads to finish and then you can use your iPod touch/iPhone

Just go to cydia, manage, sources, edit, add: http://cydia.xsellize.com then search for Pandora v3.14 skip.

Remove Background:(For iOS 4.X) Remove Background is a very useful app if you dont like to close the mutitasking apps one by one. Every time you open a new app you need to close everytime by double tapping the home-button. But with Remove Bakground no need for that anymore. You can remove all the apps in multitasking with a tap of a button. Remove Background clears all the apps that are in background to help save battery life and time. Just search Remove Background in Cydia and if you have sbsettings you can get an add on to just remove all the apps with a swipe of a finger.

How to Easily Free up Memory

Apple's release of iOS 4 brings multitasking, though this can be helpful in some situations, it can get annoying that apps that you have only opened for a moment are left running in the background, taking up valuable resources and speeding up the drain on your battery.

The jailbreak add-on for SBSettings, Processes, aims to solve this problem by giving the user an easier way to close apps running in the background. Processes even goes farther than closing apps by closing up unneeded services and resources.

1. Make sure you are jailbroken. (How do I do that?) And that you are on or at an above firmware of 3.0. (How do I check?)
2. Open Cydia, go to Search, type in SBSettings. Download and install SBSettings. (Respring device if necessary).
3. Now slide your finder from left to right on the statusbar (the bar found at the very top section of the screen).
4. Tap on More (middle-left section of the screen).
5. Now, tap on Set Toggles.
6. Turn on Processes.
7. Press the home button and let your device respring.
8. Open SBSettings, tap on the Processes icon. 

Once you've accessed the Processes section, you can close out apps easily and the press FREE UP MEMORY at the bottom to clear out your free memory in 5 seconds.

The iPhone Dev Team and Comex have come out with an all-in-one online jailbreak called JailbreakMe 2.0. The process to jailbreak is fairly simple if you are an experienced jailbreaker but if not, use the guide below.

6. Once it's done, a message will popup saying "Cydia has been added to the homescreen."

7. Close Safari and open Cydia, wait for Cydia to restart.

A source, defined by dictionary.com is

One, such as a person or document, that supplies information...

The same definition applies to the jailbroken term source. A source is a website that hosts packages like games, themes, and other files for Cydia to download. When you type in this website into a computer, you will get a not-so-great looking page but when you type the site into Cydia and install the source, (Cydia then Manage then Sources then Edit then Add) this page gives the information Cydia needs to download more packages from that source.

The following sources can be manually installed in Cydia by going to Manage>Sources>Edit>Add and typing them in. The more sources you have, the longer Cydia will take to load but you will have a wider choice of downloading themes, games, and other packages.

Spyware on AppStore?

Apps from PinchMedia and Medialytics have recently been found to be tracking iPhone users data similar to what spyware on a computer would do. Applications from these developers can tell the type of your iDevice, if you are jailbroken or not, and your current location when you open the app.

To some users this can seem like a major privacy breach.But no need to worry! Because Saurik, PinchMedia, and Medialytics along with others of the jailbroken community have been able to work out a solution as to how private information can be stopped from others. The solution, PrivaCy. This package from Cydia, released on Sauriks source can be downloaded for free and gives the option in the Settings.app to turn off the tracking service. It has recently come to the attention of angry Cydia users that they are being watched by many of the applications they have installed from the App Store.

Sites like I-phone-home have been discussing this in detail, leading to a post on the Dev-Team Blog about one provider in particular: Pinch Media.

Pinch Media, however, is not the only tracking provider: on the iPhone alone there are three other companies:
Flurry, Medialets, and Mobclix.

Developers integrate these systems for much the same reason people use Google Analytics: to better understand how their customers use their products.

Unfortunately, due to the restrictions Apple places on their App Store, these providers are unable to directly interface with the users they affect.

Instead, they rely on developers of every single application to document what information is being logged, and allow users to "opt-out" if they desire.

Thanks to applicatons like redsn0w and Cydia, however, these restrictions are no longer important: a system-wide global "opt-out" setting is now possible.

Pinch Media realized this fact, and took the lead in contacting me regarding getting this feature out there to all the users of jailbroken devices: they care.

With BigBoss, we then contacted all of the other providers, getting not only their blessing, but also their technical expertise in disabling their systems.

The result is PrivaCy: a new Settings panel that allows you to selectively opt-out of sending anonymous usage statistics to each of these providers.

This extension was a team effort, and was able to be executed as quickly as it was thanks to the help and interest of the companies involved.
