Android Heading over to iPod touch 4G

Well the creator for OpeniBoot is back again! He's the guy who let you have Android on  your iPhone 2G or 3G has posted a tweet that he tried Andorid on his iPod touch 4G and it was promising. He doesn't have a ETA for the public released but he is on the verge of getting the Andriod to the iPod touch 4G using OpeniBoot. He is already working on getting the Android to the iPhone 4G and the iPad so don't be excepting it anytime soon. But with all the good news you should expect it on your iPod touch 4Gwithout any major delays.

New iPod touch has Vibration

A lesser known feature of the new iPod touch 4th Generation is that is has a vibrating motor inside of it for the ability to vibrate when the device recieves a FaceTime call or even possibly for games. This feature was mysteriously left out of Steve Job's keynote presentation.

Numerous sources including 9to5Mac and iPod touch Fans have confirmed this to not be a mistake by Apple's web design group.

It may be that the vibrator is much smaller (and less powerful) in comparison to the iPhone, because the iPod touch has a much slimmer body, that Apple felt it would be better to keep it out as a selling point of the device.

New Nano, iPod touch Touch Screens

A new video, by what seems to be a Chineese insider, shows the supposedly new iPod Nano and iPod touch touch screens.

The Nano screen shows what most have expected, a mini version of the iPod touch that won't likely be able to fit much more than one finger on. The controls will likely be large or even accelerometer to make up for the small screen.

The iPod touch screen shows a iPhone 4-similar FaceTime camera hole. It may be made of the same Gorilla Glass as the iPhone 4's front and back are. The screen also seems to have another hole on the left side, this may be improved placement of the ambient light sensor.

Jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on 4.0.2

Is this not the right jailbreak for you? Find the one made for your device and firmware by clicking here.

The newly released Apple firmware 4.0.2 fixes the PDF security hole that was used by JailbreakMe to jailbreak without the use of a computer. Though JailbreakMe does not jailbreak 4.0.2, Redsn0w is able to jailbreak iPhone 3G, and iPod touch 2G (non-MC model).

  1. Make sure you are on firmware 4.0.2 by going into the Settings app, General, About, then down to Version. If you're not on 4.0.2, go into iTunes and click the Update button.
  2. (Skip this step if using iPhone 3G) While you're there, scroll down to Model, if the first two letters start with MC, this jailbreak will not work for you. If the Model starts with something else (MB, etc.) you're fine.
  3. Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Windows | Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Mac
  4. (Skip this step if using iPhone 3G) Download the iOS 4.0 firmware file by going here, clicking on the second drop down bar, and finding iPod touch 2G (4.0/8A293).(This is not a mistake)
  5. (Skip this step if using iPod touch 2G) Download the iOS 4.0 firmware file by going here, clicking on the second drop down bar, and finding iPhone 3G (4.0/8A293).(This is not a mistake)
  6. Open Reds0w and click the Browse button. Point it to the file you downloaded from one of the two above steps. Click Next.
  7. Make sure Install Cydia is checked and click Next
  8. Plug your device into your computer and turn it fully off. Click Next.
  9. Now be ready to follow the on-screen instructions. They will tell you what to do with your buttons. Make sure you follow them properly. (If you think you've messed up, stop, close Redsn0w, and hold down both home and power buttons for about 15 seconds until your device restarts. Then repeat above steps.)
  10. Now wait until Redsn0w is finished doing its thing.

Read: Make sure you have already Synced your iPod touch with iTunes.
  1. Tap on the Safari icon on your homescreen.
  2. In the adress bar, type in: http://www.jailbreakme.com. Then press Go.
  3. Once the page loads, a slider will be presented at the bottom of your screen. Slide it from left to right to start. (If you see a purple screen, close Safari and restart your device. Then start at Step 1 again.)
  4. Now wait for JailbreakMe to download the required files.
  5. Then JailbreakMe will begin to install the correct files and jailbreak your device.

iOS 4 Releases Tomorrow

Tomorrow, June 21, 2010, Apple is releasing iOS 4. The new firmware has over 100 new updates including multitasking, folders (similar to Categories for jailbroken users), better mail, and iBook.

Unlike previous firmware updates, this update is completely free to all iDevice users who have one of the devices that are supported by the update.

The update will support: iPod touch 2nd Generation, iPod touch 3rd Generation, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4.

Remember if you are currently jailbroken or on an unlocked iPhone, do not update to iOS 4 until a new QuickPWN, Redsn0w or Blackra1n is released. This should be a small wait time (a few days) as the jailbreak developers have already gotten their hands on iOS 4.

iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 Reveals Support for Leaked Devices

Yesterday, developers received iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4. In the code of the Software Development Kit (SDK), there are references to "AVCaptureFlashMode."

The code for flash control also appears for the new iPad 2nd Generation and iPod touch 4th Generation. Suggesting that when updates for both come out, they will have cameras accompanied by LED flash.

This coding is almost definitive proof that the prototypes that were somehow leaked of the new iPhone and iPod touch 4th Generation are legitimate.
The new iPhone 4th Generation is expected to be revealed by Apple at WWDC 2010 on June 7.
