Since the release of the iPhone 4 for Verizon, and even before, the competition between AT&T and Verizon has been heating up with each throwing out new commericials saying that their service is better in one area or another.
Now Apple has released a new commercial joining both carriers through the iPhone saying that two is better than one.

Dev Team to Release Unlock soon after Release of 4.2

iPhone 4 Unlock Not Left in The Cold

Don't expect to have a unlock for your iPhone 4 as soon as the iPhone 3GS or 3G but just expect to have an unlock that's going to be worked on right after the excitement over 4.2, Just be patient and you'll get your unlock in no time at all.
Remember do not annoy the Dev-Team for the release of the unlock for your iPhone.
Dev-Team to Realease Unlock Soon After iOS 4.2
The Dev-Team will release an update of ultrasn0w to unlock the new baseband from iOS 4.2. This update of ultrasn0w will unfortunately only support iPhone 3gs and 3g not iPhone 4. So DO NOT update your iPhone 4 if you want to keep your iPhone 4's unlock. The Dev-Team should release the update within a couple days of the release of iOS 4.2 that should most likely be out on November 24th. As long as their aren't any problem up ahead you should have your unlock at the end of the month and very satisfied with it.
iOS 4.2 Delayed Again

The iPad can only get to a certain point to connecting to but cant never access the internet. But, hopefully apple solves the problem in a short time and then releases much earlier than November 24th.

3D Glasses for iPhone and iPod touch
The toy company Hasbro will be releasing a 3D accessory named My3D to use for viewing 3D content iPhone's and iPod touches.
This may become one of the next biggest 'things' for the iPhone and iPod touch considering that normal 3D viewing glasses cost much more than these, how ever unfashionable they may be.
It promises three-dimensional content that offers a 360-degree experience in gaming, virtual travel experiences and entertainment content. It's aimed at both children and adults.
The device, which resembles a pair of binoculars with a slot in which users insert their iPod or iPhone, will be priced at $30. It will be available starting next spring at stores where Apple's iPhones and iPod Touches are available. The goggles require the usage of separate apps to view the 3D content. This means that not everything will be in 3D.

iPhone sent to Space
An iPhone attached to a few weather balloons has floated to 19 miles above the Earth! High enough to see the curvature.
The iPhone was attached to an external HD video camera and a parachute to capture it's amazing voyage to where no iPhone has ever gone before.

Adding Themes to iPod touch/iPhone without Jailbreaking

Guide
- Download and install iPhone Explorer (supports Mac and PC).
- Plug your device into your computer via USB cord.
- On the left side of iPhone Explorer, you will see a folder directory. Go to iPhone/Apps/(name of app you want to change) / /(name of app you want to change).app/. For example: MyiPhone/Apps/Safari/Safari.app/
- There, you will see a file named icon@2x.png. Rename this to bakicon@2x.png. This is so that if something goes wrong, you will have the original icon still in your device to revert back to.
- Now get the icon you want to change the original Safari to (you can get themes by clicking here). It should be on your desktop, rename it to icon@2x.png
- Take that file from your desktop and drop it into iPhone Explorer.
- If it is the first time you are doing this, reboot your device and make sure it works or else keep repeating steps 3-6 for every app you have.

iPhone 4 vs. HTC HD2 Vs. Nexus One vs. LG Panther Boot Up

Description from Pocketnow:
In this video we compare the startup time of Windows Phone 7 with Windows Mobile, iPhone, and Android. As a reminder, we're testing on non-final Windows Phone 7 hardware and software. Remarkably, Windows Phone 7 starts up in almost half the time of all of the other smartphone operating systems. Since most people leave their phones turned on all the time, startup time is not that big of a deal, but when the time is under 30 seconds (as is the case with Windows Phone 7, this build at least), it's worth mentioning.
Though the Windows Mobile 7 phones in the video booted up faster than the Android and iPhone, the commenters at iPhone Hacks have pointed out that a variety of factors such as media installed, customizations, and caches could have very well affected every one of the phones.

Unicom to Jailbreak iPhones for You?
Reports from Chinas cellphone carrier, Unicom, say that will be offering a jailbreak, along with some other extra features.
With 4.0.2 stopping the JailbreakMe.com jailbreak, it will be interesting to see how Unicom would jailbreak these devices or provide only older firmware devices.
Since jailbreaks are readily available and provided free to everybody, it may be the deal-breaker for cellphone buyers bringing in more profit for Unicom.
It will be interesting to see how Apple will react to this information.

The image above says

Apple to Disable iDevices at Own Will?

Apple has applied for a patent which would allow them to see into an iDevice, such as taking screenshots and recording GPS position, and allow them to disable the device if it were doing something it deems wrong.
The actual patent:
[0060]To detect an unauthorized user, process 610 of FIG. 6b can determine whether particular activities are identified at step 612. As described above, the particular activities can include any activities indicating suspicious behavior such as, for example, entering an incorrect password a predetermined number of times in a row, entering an incorrect password a predetermined number of times within a period of time, hacking the electronic device, jailbreaking the electronic device, unlocking of the electronic device, removing a SIM card from the electronic device, moving the electronic device a predetermined distance from a synced device, or any combination of the above. If a particular activity is identified, the current user can be detected as an unauthorized user at step 614. If, however, a particular activity is not identified, process 610 can end at step 616.Hopefully if this is ever released, jailbreakers will be able to come up with a solution to disable this 'kill-switch'.

Sony takes aim at iPhone, App Store
It is becoming apparent that the iPhone, iPod touch, and App Store have been taking a jab at Sony's profit margin.
Now, Sony has started a new ad campaign featuring Marcus, a smack-talking teenager, promoting the PSP.
The commercials directly attack the iPhone and the App Store containing 'Lame Games.' The commercials promote the PSP's cheap, older games for $9.99 which are intended to rival the App Store's many apps priced as free or $0.99.

Jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G on 4.0.2
Is this not the right jailbreak for you? Find the one made for your device and firmware by clicking here.
.jpg)
The newly released Apple firmware 4.0.2 fixes the PDF security hole that was used by JailbreakMe to jailbreak without the use of a computer. Though JailbreakMe does not jailbreak 4.0.2, Redsn0w is able to jailbreak iPhone 3G, and iPod touch 2G (non-MC model).
- Make sure you are on firmware 4.0.2 by going into the Settings app, General, About, then down to Version. If you're not on 4.0.2, go into iTunes and click the Update button.
- (Skip this step if using iPhone 3G) While you're there, scroll down to Model, if the first two letters start with MC, this jailbreak will not work for you. If the Model starts with something else (MB, etc.) you're fine.
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Windows | Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Mac
- (Skip this step if using iPhone 3G) Download the iOS 4.0 firmware file by going here, clicking on the second drop down bar, and finding iPod touch 2G (4.0/8A293).(This is not a mistake)
- (Skip this step if using iPod touch 2G) Download the iOS 4.0 firmware file by going here, clicking on the second drop down bar, and finding iPhone 3G (4.0/8A293).(This is not a mistake)
- Open Reds0w and click the Browse button. Point it to the file you downloaded from one of the two above steps. Click Next.
- Make sure Install Cydia is checked and click Next
- Plug your device into your computer and turn it fully off. Click Next.
- Now be ready to follow the on-screen instructions. They will tell you what to do with your buttons. Make sure you follow them properly. (If you think you've messed up, stop, close Redsn0w, and hold down both home and power buttons for about 15 seconds until your device restarts. Then repeat above steps.)
- Now wait until Redsn0w is finished doing its thing.

Activate iPhone without Original SIM (Hacktivate)
Sherif Hashim has found a simple solution to a widespread and difficult to solve problem for all iPhone users, activation.
If you've bought an iPhone, you know that once you open it up, it doesn't start up like and begin working, Apple requires that you insert your AT&T SIM card and then verify it with iTunes, this can be a hassle to get around if you bought the iPhone without a contract from AT&T.
The process of activating the phone without using an AT&T SIM card is known as 'hacktivating'. Previously, jailbreaking was needed to hacktivate the iPhone.
Sherif Hashim's solution is to use a Phonebook SIM to active your iPhone. This kind of a SIM card can be found at a local electronics store like Radioshack (or you can even borrow it from them and not have to pay for it). The one Hashim used can be found here, but any kind will work.
This works for any kind of iPhone including iPhone 2G (original), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4.

More Details on Comex's Flash for iPhone

Comex, the creator of the Spirit jailbreak, has released more details on his port for Flash 10.1 to iPhones and iPads (and possibly iPod touches).
The name for this Flash port has been called 'Frash'.
The description for the newest YouTube video reads:
Frash is a port of the Adobe Flash runtime for Android to the iPhone, using a compatibility layer. Frash can currently run most Flash programs natively in the MobileSafari browser. Frash currently only runs on the iPad, but support for other devices (3GS+ only due to technical restrictions) is planned, as well as support for iOS 4.The port is completely open sourced and is avaiable for developers to download now and test on their own and suggest improvements for it: http://github.com/comex/frash
